Post-Op Dressing Retention Sock

Utilizes a very light compression fit, with a belt suspension to cover and retain post-operative dressings for trans-femoral amputees.

Surgeons often want to limit compression therapy, while still needing to retain post-operative dressings. In the past, many methods have been used with limited success. The Post-Op Dressing Retention Sock solves this problem.

  • Very soft LYCRA® and COOLMAX® body for very low compression

  • Universal right or left belt system to maintain secure suspension

  • Aids in retaining surgical dressing in place— particularly with obese patients

  • Can be used over dressing and then use an ace bandage over the top to apply “controlled” compression

  • Does not irritate or stress sutures during donning

  • Trains patients in sock management

  • Can be used in combination with removable rigid dressings

  • Helps assess patient compliance with future pre-prosthetic regimens

  • Low cost

  • Little staff training required at hospital

  • Gets patient into the prosthetic services earlier.

  • Does not compromise peripheral circulation in marginal bypass vascular grafts; at times limited compression is desired for the first week or so
