Post-Op Dressing Retention Sock
Utilizes a very light compression fit, with a belt suspension to cover and retain post-operative dressings for trans-femoral amputees.
Surgeons often want to limit compression therapy, while still needing to retain post-operative dressings. In the past, many methods have been used with limited success. The Post-Op Dressing Retention Sock solves this problem.
Very soft LYCRA® and COOLMAX® body for very low compression
Universal right or left belt system to maintain secure suspension
Aids in retaining surgical dressing in place— particularly with obese patients
Can be used over dressing and then use an ace bandage over the top to apply “controlled” compression
Does not irritate or stress sutures during donning
Trains patients in sock management
Can be used in combination with removable rigid dressings
Helps assess patient compliance with future pre-prosthetic regimens
Low cost
Little staff training required at hospital
Gets patient into the prosthetic services earlier.
Does not compromise peripheral circulation in marginal bypass vascular grafts; at times limited compression is desired for the first week or so
